Sarah moved from Adelaide to Melbourne to join the Little Movers Physiotherapy team in June 2024. While in Adelaide, Sarah worked as a Paediatric Physiotherapist for South Australia’s largest Early Intervention provider, Novita, where she received an award for outstanding work as a Paediatric Physiotherapist.

 

During her time at Novita, Sarah worked with infants and children with a wide range of conditions including genetic conditions, Cerebral Palsy, neuromuscular conditions, Global Developmental Delay, Acquired Brain Injury, intellectual disability, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She gained extensive experience in equipment prescription working under the close supervision of senior Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, including powered and manual wheelchair prescription, specialised seating, standing frames, walkers, car seats and more.

 

Sarah has experience running bike riding intensive programs, hydrotherapy programs and home/community based services. She enjoys working with schools, kindergartens and childcare centres to educate staff to integrate therapy into the education setting. Sarah is trained in administering various paediatric standardised assessments, including the Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE), the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS), the Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM), Peabody Developmental Motor Scales and the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency (BOT-2).

 

Sarah has sound knowledge of the NDIS system and enjoys advocating for families through detailed report writing. Having trained under a key worker model, Sarah enjoys applying principles of family centred care when working with families.
